February is Heart Health Month
In recognizing Heart Health Month in February, the School Wellness Programs coordinated with the 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th grade health and science classes on educating students on how to respond in a Cardiac Emergency.
On Wednesday February 7th, 2018 Kate Lange, AHA Certified CPR/AED Instructor from Public Health Solutions instructed students on CPR. Students watched a short video on chest compression only CPR and spent time talking about sudden cardiac arrest and use of an AED. Mannequins were used by students to allow them to practice their skills. Students realize when timed how long two minutes of Chest Compression CPR really is. This was a great learning experience for our students!
